Message from the Coach!
I just wanted to send out a quick e-mail to say Thank You!, Congratulations!, and Great Job! for a fantastic summer season! I was truly impressed and encouraged by the amount of improvement I saw in our team this summer. A number of coaches made comments to me at the state meet about how well our kids were competing.

At the beginning of the season, we talked a lot about becoming more focused on our goals and also growing closer as a team and I think this weekend especially showed that we had accomplished those things!! I was very proud to see the the maturity, hard work, and team spirit we showed not only this past weekend, but all summer long. These are the traits that are going to make us a very, very good swim team over the next several years!!

Again, thanks to everyone for making this a great summer season!!

Check your swimmer's folder
Remember to regularly check your swimmer's team folder and the bulletin board for any other announcements!  Newsletter are available the middle of every month.

• We are currently on our summer break.  Short Course Season will begin September 8th.  Schedule will be posted when available.
   
• We are also planning on having a team picnic on Tuesday, August 19 at Memorial Park. Details will be available as it approaches.
   
• The Beijing Summer Olympics open Friday, August 8, with the first swimming events taking place the next day. We are trying to organize a couple of watch parties for the Olympics. Unfortunately Kirk will be out of town during that time, so if anyone would be willing to help organize (not necessarily host!) a party, please let him know.
   
• There will be 3 or 4 openings on the HLST Board starting Oct 1. Elections will be held at the team's annual meeting (date to be determined). Parents are asked to consider serving a 2 year term on the board. Please contact any of the current board members if you have questions about board member responsibilities.
